Paul's insights are being remembered and treasured always. Since I am in Europe please take my best wishes from a distance. I do hope you are going to have a swell evening! Regards AGB

I also want to send my regards, as I consider Paul to be one of the finest music writers ever. His books on Bob Dylan are unique in their understanding of Bob's music. I met Paul now and then on the road and at Dylan conventions, and I sure miss the man.

Jorgen, I think I remember meeting you in 1996...?
At any rate, thank you for the thoughtful comment and remembrance of Paul.
      I miss him too.

Paul had met Vonnegut before. He and I were deep Vonnegut fans from the early 60s onward. Paul went to Swarthmore with Mark Vonnegut and if I recall correctly got to meet Mark's dad.

      Interesting David.
When I was going through Pauls books and papers with Jonathan Lethem last week, I came across a handwritten letter from Mark Vonnegut. I sent it on to the gallery thinking it might be of interest in the display, especially with the inscribed copy of "God Bless You Dr. Kevorkian" which reads something like "To Paul Williams-my best friend in the universe"

Cindy Lee: At the gallery, will there be a reading of Paul's work? I would be honored to be a reader, if you're looking to do anything like that.--Wayne Robins

      Wayne,
Nice to make your acquaintance! Yes, come read an excerpt of something, a favorite Paul passage. It would be an honor to have you a part of this day.

And if you happen to have a copy of Paul's book "Love To Burn: Neil Young" bring it as it's the one book of his we are missing from the collection

No Neil Young, but I have my original paperback first edition of "Outlaw Blues" bought at its list price of 95 cents, meaning I've owned it for 42 years and still enjoy it. I just RSVP'd to the gallery so I definitely plan to be there.--Wayne
