  1. Oh Cindy, I am so sorry. Paul will be missed by so many people. He was a very important part of my life, and I treasure my memories of him. I wish for you and your son, and all of Paul's extended family, inner peace. - Carolanne

  2. I remember first reading Crawdaddy! in my dorm room at Middlebury College in the fall of 1966, then in Boston, where I tuned in and dropped out in '67 and '68. Much later, and a little straighter, I was the alumni magazine editor at Swarthmore from 1990 to 2012. I was privileged to publish Paul's work on two occasions—one a retrospective piece on the influence of music on our 1960s generation (it was huge!) and again, about the time of the "millennium," when he let us excerpt a "top 40" from his amazing catalogue of the "20th Century's Greatest Hits." Among the essays excerpted were Picasso "Girl Before a Mirror," "Old Path White Clouds" by Thich Nhat Hanh, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and "Oh Happy Day" by the Eddie Hawkins Singers. Paul spent just one semester at Swarthmore, but his curiosity and eclectic intelligence made him a Swarthmorean for the ages. There are many books by Paul in the college library, and I wish we had a complete collection. Time to re-read Das Energi! Rest in peace, old soul.

  4. Cindy Lee,
So sorry to hear the news about Paul and so happy to have met you and be at the celebration of Paul's work in NYC last weekend. It really seemed like everyone who was there had a real love for him . I hope you and Alexander can take some comfort in this. The Beach Boys song you did was lovely.Lynn and I had a great time talking with Michael Lydon and Ellen and are making plans to get together with them soon. All because we were there for Paul. Hopefully you got to see the amazing El Anatsui show at the Brooklyn Museum.
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and Alexander.
    All Best
    Mike Saccoliti and Lynn Penney

  6. Paul Williams may have left us physically, but we are so fortunate that the products of his mind and heart will always be there to guide and inspire us. Just like rock'n'roll, the spirit of Paul Williams will never die...
